The Vlad Shelter Dog Story began in Cancún, Mexico. Vlad was a young Husky mix when he arrived at a local shelter. He was expected to find a home quickly. However, he ended up spending nearly five years there.
Vlad had a noticeable underbite. It gave him a unique and crooked smile. Sadly, his unusual appearance may have caused some people to overlook him. Even so, he remained a loving dog who deserved a second chance.
His life changed when Border Tails Rescue helped him leave the shelter. Vlad then needed time to adjust to his new surroundings. He also needed proper care, patience, and a safe place to relax.
Later, animal advocates Eric Noxon and Joey Masloski learned about Vlad. They shared his story online and helped more people discover his situation. Eric also became involved in fostering Vlad.
After years of waiting, Vlad finally had a real opportunity to experience life outside the shelter. His story shows how rescue groups, foster families, and social media can help overlooked dogs find a better future.
